Ingredients (7)

15.00 ml cornflour
125.00 ml beer
250.00 ml cheese — grated
15.00 ml butter
10.00 ml fresh sage — finely chopped
salt and freshly ground black pepper
2.00 slices toast, buttered — thick, hot

Method:

Blend the cornflour and beer together until smooth, and place in a saucepan together with the cheese, butter, sage, salt and pepper.
Stir continually over a gentle heat until mixture has melted and thickened. Do not overcook.
Pour immediately over the toast.
