    red wine

    icing sugar
  • 100
    ml
    red wine

Preheat the oven to 180 ºC.

Cream the butter and eggs together and add the beaten eggs and vanilla essence. Mix well.

Sift together the dry ingredients and fold into the sugar mixture, alternating with the red wine.

Spoon the batter into a prepared ring tin and bake for 35 minutes or until a testing skewer comes out clean.

Turn the cake out onto a wire rack and allow it to cool. Sift the icing sugar into a mixing bowl and add the red wine. Mix well. Drop spoonfuls of the icing on the cake and let it run down the sides.
