  • 1
    quantity basic tomato sauce
  • 1
    kg
    small onions, peeled but keep the pointed ends intact
  • 250
    ml
    sultanas
 

Method

 
Prepare the basic tomato sauce as described. Boil the onions in a little water until just tender. Drain and add the sultanas and boiling sauce. Bring to the boil once more and spoon into sterilised jars while still hot. Seal immediately. Makes about 1,5 litres salad.
