Rainbow fruit sticks

Ingredients

 
  • 24 watermelon chunks
  • 24 green grapes
  • ½ pineapple, peeled and cut into 24 equal-sized cubes
  • 12 spanspek (melon) chunks
  • 1 large apple, with skin, cut into 12 cubes and dipped in lemon juice
  • 2 kiwi fruit, each peeled and cut into 12 equal-sized wedges
  • 12 red grapes
  • 12 wooden skewers
Servings: Change Serving
 
 

Method

 
Cut and thread the fruit onto the skewers, alternating the fruit colours and leaving about 1cm free at the end of each skewer.
Serve them individually or piled up on a platter.

Carving meat
Always allow your roast to rest for 5 to 15 minutes before carving so that the juices can be reabsorbed and the meat presents an even surface when sliced. Use a short- or long-bladed knife, and a two-pronged carving fork with a guard. To prevent the meat from losing juice, steady it with the flat of the fork, rather than piercing.
