Quick teatime cupcakes

Ingredients

  • 12
    plain cupcakes or muffins from a supermarket or bakery
  • ICING
  • 150
    g
    butter, softened
  • 375
    g
    icing sugar, sifted
  • 5
    ml
    vanilla essence
  • 40
    ml
    milk (approximately)
  • food colouring of your choice
  • fresh roses and rose petals to decorate
  • coloured paper for wrapping
  • paper doilies
  • gold spray paint
 

Method

 
ICING
Beat the butter until light, stir in icing sugar and essence.
Add milk, a little at a time to make a spreadable consistency. Beat well with an electric beater until light and creamy, then colour with food colouring of your choice.
Ice the cakes and decorate with fresh roses and rose petals.
Wrap coloured paper around the cakes for extra colour.
Spray paper doilies with gold paint and serve the cupcakes on them.
