560.00 g self-raising flour
250.00 ml cheddar cheese — grated
1.00 fresh chives — finely chopped
61.00 g soup powder — white onion
5.00 ml salt
500.00 ml Buttermilk

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180 ºC and butter a 27 x 15 cm loaf tin or spray with non-stick spray. Mix all the ingredients together to form a sticky dough. Add a little milk if the dough is too stiff. Turn into the prepared tin, sprinkle with grated cheese and bake for about 1 hour or until golden brown and done. Serve with butter or on the side at a braai.
Makes 1 medium-sized loaf.
