    self-raising hour
  • 250
    ml
    grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1
    chive, finely chopped
  • 61
    g
    white onion soup powder
  • 5
    ml
    salt
  • 500
    ml
    buttermilk
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 180 ºC and butter a 27 x 15 cm loaf tin or spray with non-stick spray. Mix all the ingredients together to form a sticky dough. Add a little milk if the dough is too stiff. Turn into the prepared tin, sprinkle with grated cheese and bake for about 1 hour or until golden brown and done. Serve with butter or on the side at a braai. Makes 1 medium-sized loaf.
