Quick chutney

Ingredients

  • 500
    g
    stoned dates, finely chopped
  • 500
    g
    green apples, cored, peeled and diced
  • 450
    g
    onions, finely chopped
  • 600
    g
    sugar
  • 450
    g
    sultanas
  • 5
    ml
    salt
  • 600
    ml
    white grape vinegar
  • 25
    g
    pickling spice, tied in muslin cloth
 

Method

 
Mix all the ingredients together in large mixing bowl. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Leave for at least 24 hours before use. Remove the muslin cloth and spoon the mixture into sterilised jars. Makes 2 litres of chutney.
