    cake flour

    baking powder
  • salt
  • cayenne pepper
  • 110
    g
    margarine
  • 100
    g
    mature Cheddar cheese
  • 1
    egg, beaten
  • 50
    ml
    milk
 

Method

 
Grease a 20 cm diameter cake tin. Preheat the oven to 220 ºC (425 ºF). Sift the dry ingredients and season according to taste with salt and cayenne pepper. Rub the margarine into the mixture. Add the Cheddar cheese and mix well. Beat the egg and milk together and add to the flour mixture. Mix well. Turn into the prepared tin and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the top of the tart is straw-coloured.
