Piquant three-bean salad

Ingredients (9)

410 g butter beans — tinned, drained
410 g baked beans in tomato sauce — tinned
410 g green beans — French cut, cooked
1 Tbs sugar
1/2 tsp mustard — powder
1 Tbs canola oil — or olive oil
1/4 cup vinegar — white or brown
1 tsp dried basil
freshly ground black pepper — to taste

Method:

Mix the three tins of beans.
Heat the sugar, mustard powder, oil, vinegar and basil in a saucepan until the sugar has dissolved. Stir continuously.
Pour the sauce over the bean mixture.
Season with pepper to taste and mix well.
Chill overnight or for at least 3 hours.
Serve cold.
