Pineapple and pear relish

    fresh pineapple, peeled and chopped
  • 1
    ripe, firm pear, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1
    green apple, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 20
    ml
    grated fresh ginger
  • 2
    ml
    cumin seeds
  • 60
    ml
    sultanas or seedless raisins
  • 35
    ml
    vinegar
  • 30
    ml
    brown sugar
  • 30
    ml
    red sweet pepper, peeled, seeded and chopped
 

Method

 
Place all ingredients in a medium-size saucepan, mix well and cover with lid. Bring to boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer mixture for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from stove and cool to room temperature before serving.
