    onion, chopped

    clove garlic, crushed

    turmeric

    yellow or red pepper, chopped

    tomatoes, peeled and chopped
  • salt and cayenne pepper to taste

    beans in tomato sauce

    ml
    chicken stock
  • 500
    ml
    cooked phuthu (mealie meal)
 

Method

 
Heat oil and sauté onion, garlic, ginger and turmeric until soft. Add yellow pepper and tomatoes. Cook for 2 minutes, then add seasoning, beans and stock. Cook until sauce is rich and thick. Using a large fork, gently stir in phuthu. Heat through to combine flavours. Perfect for a braai or served as a side dish.
