    shortcrust pastry

    butter

    ml
    golden syrup
  • 350

    chocolate, broken into squares
  • 25
    ml
    sugar
  • 5
    ml
    vanilla essence
  • 2
    eggs, whisked
  • 100
    g
    pecan nuts

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line 8-10 small aluminium foil pie casings, 5 cm in diameter, with shortcrust pastry. Prick the crust and chill. Neaten the edges. Melt the butter and golden syrup and stir in the chocolate and sugar. Add the vanilla essence and eggs and mix. Divide the nuts among the pie tins and pour a little of the chocolate mixture into each tin. Bake for about 20-30 minutes or until set. Serve with coffee.
