Ingredients (8)

1.00 onion — large, chopped
1.00 carrots — sliced
2.00 garlic — cloves, crushed
125.00 g mushrooms
30.00 ml fresh basil
2.00 ml salt
250.00 ml rice — long-grain, uncooked
30.00 ml pecan nuts — chopped

Method:

Prepare the electric steamer for use as indicated in the instruction booklet and fill with sufficient cold water.
Place the onion, carrot and garlic in the rice bowl. Add 65 ml (1/4 cup) water and place the bowl inside the steamer. Cover and steam for 5 minutes. Add the mushrooms and steam for another 5 minutes.
Add the basil, salt, rice, nuts and 250 ml (1 cup) water. Steam for 30 minutes or until the rice is tender and done. Add more water if necessary.
