Pease pudding

    yellow or green split peas
  • 1

    large onion, chopped
  • 4
    rashers streaky bacon, diced
  • 15

    Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper


5 minutes plus overn
Sort the peas, wash and then soak in water overnight. Drain and place in a saucepan with the stock, bacon and onion. Simmer for 2 1/2 hours. Drain off excess liquid and place in a bowl with the butter, Worcestershire sauce and seasoning. Whip and then turn into a pudding basin. Press in and leave to settle. Once firm, turn out onto a serving dish and serve with corned beef and vegetables.
