Pears in red wine

  • 4
    ripe pears, peeled and stalks left on
  • 500
    ml
    red wine
  • 250
    ml
    brown sugar
  • 410
    g
    rice pudding
  • walnuts, chopped to garnish
 

Method

 
Place pears in a saucepan over low heat. Add wine and brown sugar. Turn regularly to coat pears until cooked (about 25 minutes). Serve with rice pudding and garnish with walnuts. Serves 4.
