Ingredients (6)

1 egg
125 ml sweetener — (Sugarlite)
125 ml fat-free milk
3 ml almond essence
410 g canned pears — unsweetened, halves
250 ml self-raising flour

Method:

Beat the egg and the Sugalite until light and creamy. Beat in the fat-free milk and the almond essence.

Sift the flour and add it to the mixture. Mix well.

Lightly spray an 18 x 18cm cake tin with non-stick spray, then transfer the mixture into the tin.

Cut the pear halves into 1cm slices, and push the pear slices into the batter in the tin.

Bake in a preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Allow to cool.
