Pan-fried calamari with chillies

    calamari rings or steaks, cut into thin strips
  • 60
    olive oil
  • 3
    garlic cloves, crushed
  • 10
    chilli paste
  • 30
    lemon juice
  • salt and milled pepper
  • 30
    chopped parsley
  • limes or lemons, halved and grilled (optional)


Place calamari, 30 ml (2 tbsp) olive oil, garlic, chilli paste, lemon juice, salt and pepper in a bowl and toss to coat calamari.
Marinate for 15 minutes.
Heat remaining oil in a frying pan until very hot.
Remove calamari from marinade, drain well and fry in hot oil for 2 minutes. Add reserved marinade and parsley and mix well. Serve garnished with grilled halved limes or lemons.
Serve with a bowl of sweet chilli sauce for extra zoom.
