    jumbo eggs
  • 125
    ml
    milk
  • 8
    slices stale white bread
  • butter for frying
 

Method

 
Beat eggs and milk in a shallow dish. Prick bread with a fork and place in egg mixture. Turn bread over, so that it becomes saturated with egg mixture. Heat butter in a pan and fry bread on both sides until golden, 5 minutes a side. Serve French toast immediately, on its own or drizzled with honey and topped with berries.
