Ingredients (9)

250.00 g butter
15.00 ml whiskey — or brandy
190.00 ml sugar
250.00 g dark chocolate — finely chopped
375.00 ml water — warm
375.00 ml flour — self-raising
65.00 ml cocoa powder
2.00 eggs — extra-large
5.00 ml vanilla — essence

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180 ºC. Spray a medium-sized ovenproof dish with non-stick spray. Slowly melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the whisky, sugar, chopped chocolate and water, stirring until the chocolate has just melted and the mixture is smooth. Sift the self-raising flour and cocoa together and gently beat into the chocolate mixture. Add the eggs and vanilla essence and beat until just blended. Turn the batter into the-prepared dish and bake for 40-45 minutes or until a testing skewer comes out clean. Serve lukewarm or cold with a variety of berries and cream if desired.
Makes a medium-sized pudding.
