Onions in white sauce

  • pickling onions
  • white sauce
  • salt, pepper and nutmeg
  • breadcrumbs
 

Method

 
Arrange peeled, blanched pickling onions in a greased oven dish. Prepare a medium-thick white sauce, but substitute cream for the milk. Season with salt, black pepper and nutmeg, pour over the onions and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top. Bake until browned. Delicious with roast meat.
