Onions in red wine

  • 16
    small pickling onions
  • red wine
  • 1
    beef stock cube
  • 15
    ml
    vinegar
  • 50
    ml
    sugar
 

Method

 
Peel onions and place in saucepan. Cover with wine, stock cube, vinegar and sugar. Bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer until all the liquid has evaporated and the onions are nicely glazed.
