    cake flour or white bread flour

    oats
  • 375
    ml
    coconut
  • 125
    ml
    currants
  • 200
    ml
    brown sugar
  • 2

    salt
  • 5
    ml
    ground cinnamon
  • 100
    g
    margarine
  • 25
    ml
    golden syrup
  • 5
    ml
    bicarbonate of soda
  • 25
    ml
    milk
 

Method

Preheat the oven to 180 ºC and spray a 34 x 24 cm baking sheet with non-stick spray or grease lightly with margarine. Mix the dry ingredients. Melt the margarine and golden syrup together and add the dry ingredients. Dissolve the bicarbonate of soda in the milk and add to the mixture. Mix. Press the mixture into the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes. Cut into squares, remove from the pan and cool on a wire rack. Makes 35 squares.
