Ingredients (11)

150.00 ml flour — cake or white bread
500.00 ml oats
375.00 ml coconut
125.00 ml currants
200.00 ml brown sugar
2.00 ml salt
5.00 ml cinnamon — ground
100.00 g margarine
25.00 ml golden syrup
5.00 ml Bicarbonate of soda
25.00 ml milk

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180 ºC and spray a 34 x 24 cm baking sheet with non-stick spray or grease lightly with margarine. Mix the dry ingredients. Melt the margarine and golden syrup together and add the dry ingredients. Dissolve the bicarbonate of soda in the milk and add to the mixture. Mix. Press the mixture into the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes. Cut into squares, remove from the pan and cool on a wire rack.
Makes 35 squares.
