    white bread flour

    soft brown sugar

    salt

    bicarbonate of soda

    butter, grated
  • 125

    milk
  • 1
    extra-large egg, beaten
  • 100
    g
    walnuts, chopped
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Spray two large baking trays with non-stick spray. Combine the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add the butter and rub in until well blended. Whisk the milk and egg together and add to the flour mixture. Mix lightly. Add the nuts and mix. Drop tablespoons of the mixture onto a baking tray and flatten the cookies slightly with a fork. Bake for 15 minutes or until the cookies are done and slightly browned. Store in an airtight container. Makes 40 cookies.
