Nutty pears with rich caramel sauce

    muesli

  • CARAMEL SAUCE
  • 90
    g
    butter
  • 180
    ml
    brown sugar
  • 300
    ml
    fresh cream
  • 15
    ml
    cornflour
  • 15
    ml
    water
 

Method

 
PEARS Combine butter and honey in small saucepan, stir over heat until butter has melted. Stir in nuts, muesli and coconut. Peel pears leaving hollow centres. Fill centres with nut mixture. Place pears in an ovenproof dish, top with sauce, cover and bake in a preheated 180 ºC oven for about one hour or until pears are tender. Serve with the sauce. CARAMEL SAUCE Melt butter in saucepan, stir in sugar. Stir constantly over heat without boiling until sugar has dissolved. Stir in cream. Blend cornflour and water and stir in. Stir constantly over heat until mixture boils and thickens. Serve hot or cold. Serves 8.
