    sugar
  • 110
    g
    butter
  • 15
    ml
    golden syrup
  • 397
    g
    Nestlé condensed milk
  • 100
    g
    pecan nuts, chopped
 

Method

 
Place the sugar, butter and golden syrup into a saucepan and cook over low heat until the butter melts. Add the condensed milk and heat slowly until the mixture begins to cook. Stir continually. Brush off the sugar crystals that form so that all the crystals dissolve before the mixture begins to boil. Boil for 20 minutes over low heat, stirring every now and then so that the mixture does not burn. Remove from the heat and add the chopped nuts. Mix well and pour quickly onto a greased baking tray. Allow to cool slightly and cut into 2 cm squares. Remove from the tray once they have cooled completely. Makes 80 small squares.
