Muesli with fruit

    ml
    instant oats
  • 85
    ml
    soft brown sugar
  • 85
    ml
    sultanas
  • 45
    ml
    chopped mixed peel
  • 150
    g
    mixed nuts, chopped
  • 175
    ml
    plain yoghurt
  • 1
    each, small banana and apple per person, sliced and dipped in lemon juice
 

Method

 
Mix the oats and brown sugar and spread on a baking sheet. Toast under the preheated oven grill, stirring frequently to prevent burning. Toast until the oats just begin to change colour and develop a caramel flavour. Remove from the oven and cool. Add the sultanas, peel and nuts, mixing well. Spoon into clean jars. Serve the muesli with yoghurt and fresh fruit. Makes about 675 ml muesli.
