    kg
    chicken livers
  • oil for frying
  • 1
    large onion, finely chopped
  • 410
    g
    prepared sauce mix
  • salt, pepper and paprika to taste
  • 400
    g
    roll frozen puff pastry if making a pie
 

Method

+/- 30 min
 
Clean the chicken livers and pat dry with paper towelling. Heat a little oil in a pan and fry the onion until tender. Add the chicken livers and fry until brown on the outside and still slightly pink inside. Add the can of sauce and simmer for 15 minutes. Season to taste. Spoon onto an ovenproof dish and cover with the puff pastry, or make individual pies and bake in a preheated oven at 200 ºC (400 ºF) until the puff pastry is golden brown and well-risen. Serves 6.
