Ingredients (11)

65.00 g sugar — dark brown
265.00 g flour — cake
165.00 g butter
230.00 g castor sugar
0.00 0 eggs — large
10.00 ml Baking powder
45.00 ml cocoa powder
185.00 ml milk
0.00 0 plums — halved, stoned and cut in 8
0.00 0 chocolate — curls, to decorate
0.00 0 mascarpone cheese — to serve

Method:

Rub the brown sugar, 15g
(30ml) flour and 25ml cold butter
with your fingertips until the mixture
resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Beat the castor sugar and the
remaining butter until light, then
slowly add the eggs one by one.
Sift the remaining flour into a
mixing bowl along with the baking
powder, cocoa powder and
1ml salt. Add to the butter mixture.
Add the milk to the batter.
Pour the mixture into a greased
and lined 20cm spring-form tin.
Cover with one layer of plum
slices (reserve the remaining plums
for decoration). Sprinkle with
the brown sugar mixture. Bake
in a preheated oven for 50 to
60 minutes or until a skewer
comes out clean. Remove from
the oven and set aside to cool.
Top with the remaining plum slices
and pile high with chocolate curls.
Slice and serve with a spoonful of
mascarpone cheese.
