Ingredients (9)

MINCE BASE
500.00 g beef mince
125.00 ml oats
salt and freshly ground black pepper — to taste
10.00 ml oil
basic topping — GROUPING
2.00 tomatoes
100.00 g cheddar cheese — grated
1.00 green pepper — strips
5.00 ml dried mixed herbs

Method:

1. Gently combine the mince, oats and salt and pepper with a fork.
2. Oil a heavy-based saucepan (with a lid) and heat. Press the mince mixture into the pan using a fork to form a layer about 20 mm thick. Fry the meat for 5 minutes over low heat without stirring.
3. Arrange the tomato slices and remaining topping ingredients on top and sprinkle with the herbs. Cover with the lid and heat till the cheese has melted. Serve with garlic bread or fresh bread rolls and a salad.
Serves 6.
