Mock pizza with mince

  • 500
    g
    mince
  • 125
    ml
    oats
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 10
    ml
    cooking oil
  • BASIC TOPPING
  • 2
    tomatoes, sliced
  • 100
    g
    Cheddar cheese, grated or diced
  • 1
    small green pepper, seeded and sliced into strips or diced
  • 5
    ml
    mixed dried herbs
 

Method

 
1. Gently combine the mince, oats and salt and pepper with a fork. 2. Oil a heavy-based saucepan (with a lid) and heat. Press the mince mixture into the pan using a fork to form a layer about 20 mm thick. Fry the meat for 5 minutes over low heat without stirring. 3. Arrange the tomato slices and remaining topping ingredients on top and sprinkle with the herbs. Cover with the lid and heat till the cheese has melted. Serve with garlic bread or fresh bread rolls and a salad. Serves 6.
