Miniature oriental meatballs

  • 450
    g
    minced pork
  • 1
    onion
  • 45
    ml
    chopped fresh coriander
  • 10
    ml
    chopped fresh ginger
  • 45
    ml
    Hoisin sauce
  • 1
    large egg
  • flour for coating
  • butter and oil for frying
  • To serve
  • 200
    g
    Chinese noodles
  • 375
    ml
    chicken stock
  • thinly sliced vegetables of your choice
  • 30
    ml
    soy sauce
  • 30
    ml
    Hoisin sauce
 

Method

 
Mix all ingredients except flour, butter and oil until well blended. Shape into little balls and coat lightly with flour.
Heat butter and oil in a frying pan and fry meatballs in batches, turning once.
They should take 8 to 10 minutes to cook through. Drain on paper towels and keep warm.
Meanwhile, boil Chinese noodles in chicken stock until tender. Add vegetables and heat through.
Drain noodles, stir in soy and Hoisin sauce, top with meatballs and serve.
