    frozen puff pastry, thawed

    egg yolks for glaze
  • Filling 1

    minced beef
  • salt to taste
  • 2

    each of ground cloves, ground cumin, ground coriander and freshly ground black pepper
  • 45
    ml
    seasoned cake flour
  • Filling 2
  • 1
    small onion, grated
  • 15
    g
    margarine
  • 1
    bunch spinach, washed and chopped
  • 100
    g
    feta cheese
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1
    large egg
  • 15
    ml
    cream
  • 45
    ml
    seasoned flour
 

Method

 
Preheat oven to 220 ºC. Grease a baking sheet. 1. Lightly combine filling ingredients in separate bowls. Roll mixture to form 2 'sausages', each 35 cm long. 2. On lightly floured surface, roll out each packet of pastry, separately, to form a rectangle. Cut into 2 pieces across the width. 3. Place 1 'sausage' 30 mm from the top of the first rectangle and brush water in a strip alongside filling. 4. Fold top of pastry over and press it down firmly on the moistened strip. Seal properly. 5. Repeat with the other rectangle using filling 2. Brush egg over and cut each roll into 12 pieces. 6. Place rolls 10 mm apart on the baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up. Serve warm.
