Mince with potato topping

    potatoes, peeled
  • 1
    bunch celery, thinly sliced
  • 25
    g
    butter
  • 2
    extra-large eggs, separated
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1
    quantity basic mince mixture
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 200 ºC (400 ºF). Cook the potatoes and celery in boiling water until soft. Drain. Mash until smooth. Add the butter and egg yolks and mix well. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks are formed. Fold into the potato mixture. Turn the mince mixture into an ovenproof dish and spread evenly. Spread the potato mixture over the mince and bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serves 4.
