Mince filling with a bite

    g
    minced beef
  • 10
    ml
    cooking oil
  • 1
    large onion, grated
  • 4
    cloves garlic, crushed
  • 5
    ml
    turmeric
  • 20
    ml
    mild curry powder
  • 50
    ml
    fruit chutney
  • 5
    ml
    salt
  • 100
    ml
    meat stock
 

Method

 
Fry mince in heated cooking oil in a heavy-based saucepan until it turns colour. Add onion and garlic and sauté until onion is translucent. Add turmeric, curry and chilli powder and fry for 2 minutes. Heat remaining ingredients, add and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Allow to cool. Serve with Beer vetkoek (see recipe).
