Mince and tomato patties

  • large onion, finely chopped
  • oil

    slices white bread, crusts removed
  • 250

    milk
  • 500
    g
    mince
  • 1
    extra-large egg, whisked
  • 80
    ml
    cream of tomato soup powder
  • 65
    ml
    hot chutney
  • 15
    ml
    crushed garlic
  • 10
    ml
    flavour enhancer such as Aromat, chilly and beef flavour
  • 5
    ml
    black pepper
 

Method

40-60 min
 
Preheat the oven to 160 ºC (325 ºF). Spray a large ovenproof dish with non-stick spray or grease with butter or margarine. Fry the onion in little oil until soft and translucent. Soak the bread in the milk. Squeeze out the excess milk and crumble the bread. Mix all the ingredients in a mixing bowl. Shape into balls and pack fairly tightly in the prepared dish. Bake for about 40-60 minutes or until done. Makes 22 patties.
