Ingredients (11)

onion — finely chopped
oil
10.00 bread — white slices, crusts removed
250.00 ml milk
500.00 g beef mince
1.00 eggs — extra-large, whisked
80.00 ml soup powder — cream of tomato
65.00 ml chutney — hot
15.00 ml garlic — cloves, crushed
10.00 ml flavour enhancer
5.00 ml freshly ground black pepper

Method:

Preheat the oven to 160 ºC (325 ºF). Spray a large ovenproof dish with non-stick spray or grease with butter or margarine.
Fry the onion in little oil until soft and translucent. Soak the bread in the milk. Squeeze out the excess milk and crumble the bread. Mix all the ingredients in a mixing bowl.
Shape into balls and pack fairly tightly in the prepared dish. Bake for about 40-60 minutes or until done.
Makes 22 patties.
