Mighty meaty toasties

  • 1
    small onion, very finely chopped or
  • 400
    g
    meatballs and beans in tomato sauce
  • 30
    ml
    chutney
  • 1
    tomato, diced
  • 30
    ml
    chopped fresh parsley
  • salt and ground black pepper
  • 12
    slices white bread
  • margarine for spreading
 

Method

 
Blanch the onion in boiling water for a few minutes, then drain. Mash the meatballs in the sauce with a fork and mix with the chutney, diced tomato, chopped onion and parsley. Season with salt and black pepper. Butter the bread slices on both sides and place the filling on six slices. Cover with the remaining six slices. Toast the sandwiches in a sandwich toaster until golden brown and heated through.
