  • QUICK CAKE MIX
  • 500
    ml
    butter, softened
  • 500
    ml
    castor sugar
  • 500
    ml
    self-raising flour
  • 4
    eggs
  • 10
    ml
    baking powder
  • DECORATIONS
  • butter icing as needed (see recipe)
  • round chocolate biscuit
  • 2
    brown smarties
  • chocolate vermicelli
 

Method

 
1. Preheat oven to 180 ºC. Grease and line two 23 cm round cake tins. 2. Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix first with a wooden spoon and then with a hand-mixer for 1 to 2 minutes until mixture is smooth and shiny. 3. Pour the mixture into the prepared tins and bake for 45 to 50 minutes until skewer comes out clean. Loosen the edges of the cake and turn out onto a wire rack to cool. 4. Cut the cooled cakes into a face shape. Ice the cake with butter icing and decorate as shown in the photograph.
