Mexican beef with tramezzini dippers

Ingredients (9)

30 ml sunflower oil — or olive oil
1 onion — finely chopped
500 g beef mince
2 tin tomatoes — mexican flavoured
tinned tomatoes — chopped
tinned tomatoes — Mexican-flavoured
for a milder flavour)
2 pita breads — or tramezzinis
avocado — and sour cream, to serve

Method:

Heat the oil and sauté the onion until soft. Add the mince and brown well.Add the tomatoes and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 40 minutes until the sauce has reduced and thickened.

Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper.Just before the mince sauce is done, place the tramezzinis or pita breads in a hot, dry pan and toast on both sides.

Cut into triangles or strips to dip into the sauce.

Serve alongside the Mexican mince with sliced avocado pear and sour cream.
