Tomato sauce: Heat the oil in a saucepan and sauté the onions and garlic until soft. Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, stock, sugar, salt and pepper and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes or
until the sauce thickens slightly. Add the meatballs and basil, cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until the meatballs are done. Serve the meatballs and tomato sauce with spaghetti.
