Ingredients (16)

meatballs: beef mince
4.00 spring onion — chopped
2.00 garlic — cloves, crushed
20.00 ml sambal oelek — or finely chopped chillies
500.00 ml breadcrumbs
20.00 ml fresh oregano — chopped
1.00 eggs — lightly whisked
hash browns with yoghurt dip: salt
5.00 ml black pepper — freshly ground
tomato sauce: olive oil
2.00 onion — chopped
2.00 garlic — cloves, crushed
2.00 tin tomatoes — peeled
40.00 ml tomato paste
500.00 ml stock — beef
15.00 ml sugar
5.00 ml salt
5.00 ml black pepper — freshly ground
20.00 ml fresh basil

Method:

Meatballs: Mix all the ingredients well and
shape the mixture into small balls.

Tomato sauce: Heat the oil in a saucepan and sauté the onions and garlic until soft.
Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, stock, sugar, salt and pepper and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes or
until the sauce thickens slightly.
Add the meatballs and basil, cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until the meatballs are done.
Serve the meatballs and tomato sauce with spaghetti.
