Ingredients (10)

400.00 g beef mince
400.00 g ostrich mince
1.00 onion — finely chopped
420.00 g breadcrumbs — fresh
250.00 ml cheddar cheese — finely grated
25.00 ml chutney — hot
2.00 eggs — extra-large, lightly whisked
250.00 ml tomato purée
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
12.00 bacon — rashers

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180 ºC and butter a 9 x 26 cm loaf tin or spray with non-stick spray. Line the bottom of the tin with baking paper. Add all the ingredients, except the bacon to the mince and mix well. Spoon the meat mixture into the prepared tin and arrange the bacon rashers on top. Bake for about 1-1 1/2 hours until done. Turn out onto a serving platter and serve with vegetables, a salad and crispy bread rolls.
Serves 4-6.
