Masala fish

    ml
    whole cumin
  • 7
    ml
    ground cumin
  • 15
    ml
    crushed garlic
  • 2
    ml
    salt
  • 2
    fresh chillies, chopped
  • 4
    hake fillets
  • flour for dusting
  • 5
    ml
    ground turmeric
  • 50
    ml
    sunflower oil
  • 2
    tomatoes, sliced
 

Method

4-5 min
 
Mix together cumin, garlic, salt and chillies. Cut a slit across each piece of fish and fill with the spice mixture. Dust each piece lightly with flour, then sprinkle with turmeric. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add pieces of fish and fry for about 2 minutes on each side. Fry the sliced tomatoes. Serve immediately with basmati rice and a lemon wedge on the side. Serves 4.
