250.00 ml	margarine
250.00 ml	coconut
30.00 ml	Baking powder
15.00 ml	salt
250.00 ml	brown sugar
2.00	eggs
250.00 ml	milk
10.00 ml	vanilla — essence

Method:

Preheat oven to 180 &degC.
Mix flour and maize meal.
Rub in margarine, add coconut, baking powder and salt and mix well.
Beat sugar, eggs, milk and vanilla essence.
Add to dry ingredients and mix to a stiff dough.
Add more milk if necessary.
Roll out to about 5 mm thickness and cut out with a biscuit cutter.
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden.
Makes about 12, depending on size.
