Macerated cherries with créme fraîche

Ingredients

  • 500
    g
    fresh cherries
  • 200
    ml
    grappa
  • 200
    ml
    marsala wine
  • 1
    Tbs
    muscovado sugar (or any soft brown sugar)
  • 200
    ml
    créme fraiche
  • 2
    Tbs
    muscovado sugar
  • a few mint leaves - chopped finely
 

Method

Mix the grappa, wine and sugar together and pour over the cherries. Let it stand in the fridge for 24 hours.
   
Just before serving mix the créme fraiché and sugar together – the sugar will melt it naturally.
   
To serve:

Scoop some crème fraiche on a plate, add a few cherries and then sprinkle with chopped mint leaves.
