Lamb korma

    lamb, cubed
  • 60
    g
    butter
  • 2
    onions, finely chopped
  • 2
    garlic cloves, chopped
  • 25
    ml
    tomato paste
  • 2
    ml
    ground ginger
  • 5
    ml
    ground coriander
  • pinch ground cloves
  • 1
    ml
    ground cinnamon
  • 2
    ml
    turmeric
  • 1
    ground cardamom
  • ml
    salt to taste
  • 180
    ml
    hot water
  • 125
    ml
    plain yoghurt
  • 5
    ml
    cornflour
 

Method

 
Brown the meat in the butter.
Add the onions and garlic and sauté until the onions are soft.
Blend the tomato paste with the spices, salt and water.
Add to the meat mixture, cover and simmer for 45 minutes or until the meat is tender.
Blend the yoghurt and cornflour and add to the curry 5 minutes before the end of the cooking time.
Serve with rice.
