    rice

    butter
  • 2
    onions, chopped
  • 2
    cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2
    fresh chillies, chopped
  • 1
    each red and green pepper, sliced
  • 410

    chopped tomatoes
  • 15
    ml
    cayenne pepper
  • 1
    ml
    ground cloves
  • 200
    g
    ham, cubed
  • 250
    g
    prawns, cleaned and peeled
  • 45
    ml
    freshly chopped parsley
  • 40
    ml
    lemon juice
 

Method

30 minutes
 
Cook the rice according to pack instructions. Heat the butter in a large saucepan and sauté the onion, garlic, chillies and peppers for five minutes. Add the tomatoes, spices and seasoning, to taste. Simmer for five minutes. Drain the rice and stir into the tomato sauce, along with the ham and prawns. Cook for five minutes, stir in parsley and lemon juice and serve.
