Italian summer on a stick

Serving Change
  • sweet melon (spanspek), winter melon or gallia melon, peeled and cut into thick sticks
  • Parma ham, thinly slices
  • fruity olive oil
  • milled pepper
  • wooden skewers


Wrap melon in a liberal layer of Parma ham. Drizzle each stick with a little olive oil and season with milled pepper and skewer the melon and ham. Serve immediately, Parma ham hasn't got a long life; it tends to curl and crisp at the edges when left out for too long.
