Island-style kebabs

  • wooden skewers
  • 4
    chicken breast fillets, cubed
  • 200
    g
    rindless back or shoulder bacon, cubed
  • 1
    small pineapple, peeled and cubed
  • BASTING SAUCE
  • 30
    ml
    wholegrain mustard
  • 30
    ml
    honey
  • 1
    lemon, juice
  • salt and milled pepper
  • 15
    ml
    mustard powder
 

Method

 
Soak wooden skewers in cold water for 20 minutes. Thread chicken, bacon and pineapple alternately onto skewers. BASTING SAUCE: Mix all ingredients together and use to brush kebabs. Grill or braai, turning and basting frequently, for 8 to 10 minutes, or until cooked and nicely browned. Brush with any leftover basting sauce and serve with crusty rolls or bread and salads.
