Hungarian potato bake

    large onions, thickly sliced

    clove garlic, crushed

    chopped ham

    chopped fresh parsley
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • nutmeg to taste

    cooked potatoes, sliced

    sour cream
  • 1
    extra-large egg
  • 150
    ml
    grated Cheddar cheese
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 180 ºC and grease a 20 x 25 cm ovenproof dish with butter or non-stick spray. Heat the butter and sauté the onions until soft. Add the garlic and sauté. Add the ham, parsley, salt and pepper, nutmeg and paprika and mix. Add the potatoes, fry them lightly and spoon everything into the prepared dish. Lightly beat the sour cream and egg together and pour over the contents of the dish. Sprinkle with the cheese and bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.
