Hot beef salad

    vegetable oil
  • 300
    g
    rump or tenderised steak, thinly sliced and excess fat removed
  • 1
    medium onion, peeled and finely chopped
  • 150
    g
    green beans, finely sliced
  • 2
    ml
    finely grated orange rind
  • 1
    orange, juice
  • 10
    ml
    soy sauce
  • 30
    ml
    instant roast meat gravy powder
  • 2
    ml
    ground ginger
  • 2
    large garlic cloves, crushed
  • 200
    g
    mixed salad greens
  • 75
    g
    roughly chopped almonds, cashew nuts or peanuts, lightly toasted
 

Method

 
1. Heat oil in frying pan over high heat and add remaining ingredients except nuts and salad greens. Stir-fry for 3 to 5 minutes, adding a tablespoon of water if mixture becomes too thick. 2. Arrange salad greens on 4 plates or on large serving platter and spoon over hot beef mixture. Sprinkle with the nuts and serve immediately. Serves 4 as a main course or 6 as a starter.
