    soy sauce
  • 5

    golden syrup
  • 2

    Tabasco sauce
  • 200
    ml
    water
  • 30
    ml
    brown sugar
  • 50
    ml
    peanut butter
  • 1
    clove garlic, crushed
  • 1
    lemon, juice and grated rind
  • 750
    g
    steak, tenderised and cut into strips
  • 1
    bunch spring onions, sliced
  • 60
    ml
    oil
 

Method

 
1. Mix first 8 ingredients in a saucepan and bring to the boil, stir until smooth. Place to one side and cool. 2. Marinade the meat strips in the sauce for at least 1 hour. 3. Heat oil in a heavy-based pan and cook the spring onions until crisp. Remove from oil and set aside. 4. Remove meat from the marinade; reserve the sauce. Fry meat in onion oil until well browned. 5. Bring sauce to the boil. Place spring onions on top of the meat and pour the sauce over. Serve with white rice.
