    rolled oats

    cake flour

    lite Nestlé Ideal Evaporated Milk

    water

    extra-large egg, lightly beaten
  • pinch salt
  • 2
    ml
    grated orange rind
  • 410

    cherry or blueberry pie filling
  • TOPPING
  • 125
    ml
    lite Nestlé Ideal Evaporated Milk, well-chilled
 

Method

 
1. Grind the oats in a liquidiser. Blend with flour and water to a smooth paste with a little of the water. 2. Bring the rest of the milk and the water to the boil and stir into the oats mixture and the sugar, stirring all the time. Return the mixture to the pan and cook over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring all the time. 3. Remove from the heat, and cool for 5 minutes. Stir the egg into the cooled oatmeal mixture. Add salt and orange rind. 4. Pour the mixture into a greased 1 litre dish and bake in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes. 5. Serve with blueberry pie filling and whipped lite evaporated milk. Serves 4-6
